A graduate from Carleton University’s Bachelor of Music program, Graydon has been performing in various musical groups and projects over the past years which have led him to many opportunities. These have included his music being featured on national CBC radio as well as a string quartet composition performed at the NAC Fourth Stage for a collaboration between Carleton University’s music department, the Ottawa School of Dance and a local visual artist David Galbraith. Graydon also has a diploma from Recording Arts Canada (Montreal) in Sound and Music Production and has worked with a variety of artists and groups.
Graydon has just completed his first solo project EP which is the start of his newest adventure in the music industry. This collection of songs is a showcase of his talents and skills learned at Carleton and in his performing experiences to date. Most of the instruments on the album were performed by Graydon including: piano, vocals, guitars, keyboards, drums and many others. The string arrangement on the title track 'Windchimes' was also composed by Graydon. Drawing from influences such as Peter Gabriel, Ben Folds and Coldplay, Graydon draws from large diversity of artists which shapes his own writing style both lyrically and musically. Graydon’s diverse background as a musician has come together on this 5-song EP combining a solid piano pop/rock setting, booming drums and soaring melodies with lyrics derived from the simplicities and complexities of our world. Songs range from quiet reflections to upwelling rhythms painting dynamic soundscapes.
